Emotional dependency
Relationships that trap you, the fear of being without that person, the sense that you are worth nothing unless someone confirms it from outside. This is our main specialty.
We offer individual, couples, family and group therapy, in English and in Spanish. Does your wellbeing depend too much on another person, on your phone, on shopping or on work? Almost always it is a way of soothing a pain that came earlier. That is exactly what we work on.
The first 15-minute call to get to know each other is free and with no obligation.
Maybe you check your phone even though you know there is nothing new. Maybe you are still in a relationship that hurts you, because being without that person is even more frightening. Or you shop, work or eat to cover the discomfort for a while, and when you finish the same old guilt shows up.
None of that means something in you is broken. At PsicoDiversa we understand these behaviors not as a “vice,” but as a way of managing deep pain: something inside is asking for relief and looks for it wherever it can. If you have told yourself off a thousand times, you already know that does not fix it. Therapy starts by understanding what lies underneath.
We do not focus only on getting you to “quit” a behavior. What interests us is the job it does: what emptiness it is trying to fill and what it is protecting you from. That is why we say we work from the root, not just from the symptom.
We draw on contextual therapies (ACT), on EMDR — a scientifically supported technique — to process traumatic experiences, and on IFS to listen to the inner parts that pull in opposite directions. When the people around you also need their own space, systemic family therapy comes in. Depending on the moment, the process can be individual, group-based or a combination, with neurofeedback alongside it. Everything else is built on that base: emotional strength, self-compassion and, little by little, more freedom.
We tell you about it calmly in how we work.
Every process is different. These are the most common ways in:
Relationships that trap you, the fear of being without that person, the sense that you are worth nothing unless someone confirms it from outside. This is our main specialty.
Phone and social media, shopping, sex, work or food as a way out. Behaviors that bring relief for a moment and weigh on you the rest of the day.
Anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, insomnia. A space that is only yours, at your own pace.
When you have been having the same argument for a long time with no way out, or a distance has settled in that neither of you knows how to cross. We work on communication and on the dependency dynamics inside the relationship.
When one person is going through a hard time, the people around them are too. Sessions to improve communication and to look again at the dynamics that hurt.
Groups for anxiety, depression, emotional dependency and emotional regulation. Hearing other people going through something similar does its own part of the work.
Don’t see your situation on this list? Tell us about it and we will see whether we can help; if we are not the right place, we will say so.
PsicoDiversa is the initiative of two psychologists, Laura Nhate and María Zuleica Guerra, who brought together their experience and their values to create a therapeutic refuge where confidentiality, humanity and respect are not up for negotiation. Emotional dependency, addictions and compulsive bonds are at the center of our work.
Trauma and addictions · EMDR and IFS
Her work goes to the root: she understands pain and addictive behaviors as a response to deeper experiences. She graduated in Psychology from the University of Málaga and specialized in Health Psychology at the International University of La Rioja. She sees clients in Spanish and in English.

Contextual therapies (ACT, FAP and DBT) · addictions and emotional dependency
That contextual outlook is part of the center’s DNA. Before turning to psychology she spent seven years as a social worker with people in vulnerable situations, and it shows in how she treats people.

You arrive as you are, with everything you bring, without having to tidy it up first.
A comfortable, safe setting where you can talk without weighing every word.
What you share stays here, protected. Always.
When words fall short, we use art and expression to say what is hard to say.
We care about what you are going through, and it shows in how you are treated: genuine presence, without rushing and without judgment.
Your pace sets the rhythm. We walk alongside you without pushing.
Writing that first message is usually the hardest part. You don’t need to be able to explain everything: a “hi, I’d like the free call” is enough to start.
Book a free 15-minute introductory call. We explain how we work and you decide, with no obligation.
You can also call us at 600 21 57 83.
We read your message and reply through whichever channel you chose. In that first conversation you tell us what brings you here, we clear up any questions and, if you want to go ahead, we find a day and time for the first session. If you would rather think about it, that is fine: nobody is going to chase you.
No obligation. A real person reads your message — not an answering machine.
Both. The center is at C. Mendoza, 6, dcha, Carretera de Cádiz, 29002 Málaga, and we also work online with people anywhere in Spain. The work is the same as in the practice; what changes is the screen.
You can arrive without the label. Some common signs: it is very hard to be without that person, the relationship hurts but you cannot leave it, you need constant approval to feel settled. There is more on the emotional dependency page. And if you are unsure, ask us and we will look at it with you in that first conversation.
Yes. We are bound by professional confidentiality and it is also one of the center’s values. Whatever you write in the form travels and is stored encrypted, and we only use it to reply to you. The detail is in the privacy policy.
An individual session costs €70, a couples session €100, a family therapy session €120 and a group session €45 per person. Prices are the same in person and online, and asking commits you to nothing.
You tell us what is going on and we explain how we work. Ask whatever you need and decide calmly, with no obligation.
