I thought I was the only one

If you have been living with anxiety, with a mood that will not lift or inside a relationship that hurts you, chances are you are going through it in silence. Maybe you keep quiet because you think nobody would understand, and that silence tightens: the less you say it out loud, the stranger what is happening to you seems.

In a therapy group the opposite happens. You hear somebody else describe, in different words, the very thing you had never told anyone, and shame usually begins to loosen right there. What is yours starts to look like what it is: a human response to pain, far more common than you imagine.

The group is also a place to practice. Setting a boundary, saying no, asking for something without apologizing first: things that are hard outside and that can be rehearsed inside, with a psychologist guiding the session and people who tend not to judge you, because they are in the same place.

And one important thing: nobody here is made to speak on the first day. Arriving, sitting down and listening is already taking part.

Our groups

We run four therapy groups. Each one has a limited number of places, so the way in is to join the waiting list: you write to us, we tell you how that particular group stands and we let you know as soon as a place opens up. Days, times and the rest of the details we go through when you get in touch, because they vary from group to group.

Emotional dependency and bonds group

If what hurts happens in relationships, the group is a relationship in real time. Here we work on what keeps you inside a relationship that hurts, the need for approval and the fear of being left without the other person.

Emotional dependency therapy

Anxiety group

A space to manage stress, reduce fears and practice coping techniques you can use outside, in your everyday life. Here you practice them alongside people who know from the inside what it is to live with your body on alert.

Depression group

Depression pushes you toward isolation, and isolation gives it more ground. The group works exactly there: sadness, disconnection from other people, self-esteem and motivation, at a pace that is possible. Without asking you to “try harder.”

Emotional regulation group

To learn to identify what you feel and manage it in a healthy, mindful way. It helps when emotions go from zero to a hundred with nothing in between, or when you have covered them up so long you no longer know what they are.

Not sure which group fits you? Tell us and we will point you in the right direction; if what you need is something else, such as individual therapy, we will say so just as clearly.

How a group works

Each group is guided by a psychologist from the center, with goals and a method: the working material is what each person brings to the session.

You can come while already in individual therapy, here or at another practice, or start with the group directly. At that first contact we help you decide whether this is your moment for a group and which one to join; that first step commits you to nothing.

Group or individual therapy?

They are for different things. Individual therapy goes into your own history, in detail and at your pace. The group works on what only shows up with other people present: shame, boundaries, the way you place yourself in front of others. Many people combine the two; others do only one. If you are unsure, we will point you in the right direction at that first contact and you decide.

How to start

Frequently asked questions

Will I have to speak in front of the group?

Not until you want to. You can start by listening: the psychologist guides the session and looks after everyone’s pace, and some people take several sessions before they start to speak. That is normal, and in the group it is understood, because almost everybody has been there. Most people find that, from the inside, a group is far less frightening than it looks from the outside.

How much does a group session cost?

A group session costs €45 per person. You will find the full price list on our services page, and asking commits you to nothing. It is one of the first things we tell you if you join the waiting list.

Which groups are there and how do I join the waiting list?

We have groups for anxiety, for depression, for emotional regulation and for emotional dependency and bonds. Message us on WhatsApp at 600 21 57 83 or leave your details in the form, tell us which one you are interested in and we will add you to the waiting list: at that first contact we tell you how that particular group stands and the steps to join as soon as a place opens up.

Does what I say in the group stay between us?

Yes. We are bound by professional confidentiality, and in the group confidentiality is the first rule everybody accepts on joining: what is said inside stays inside. The data you send us through the form on this site is stored encrypted and is not shared with third parties; the detail is in the privacy policy.

Are the groups in person?

The groups meet at our center, at C. Mendoza, 6, dcha, in the Carretera de Cádiz area (Málaga). If what you are looking for is support online, individual therapy is also available online; write to us and we will see what fits you.
